A total of 49,88,198 MT of iron ore and 610 MT of manganese have been extracted at the Uliburu mines illegally and the State Government has demanded Rs1,480,62,32,09 as its cost. This was informed by Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallick in the Assembly on Friday. Replying to a query of MlA Prakash Chandra Behera, the Minister told the House that the State Government has received a total of Rs19116.05 crore as revenue from mining sector in last four years. “While Rs3330.47 crore was collected in 2010-11 as mining revenue, it went up to Rs4586.65 crore in 2011-12 followed by Rs 5679.35 in 2012-13 and Rs5519.58 in 2013-14,” the Minister said.
