GST, Central Excise and Customs, Bhubaneswar Zone Chief Commissioner Naresh Penumaka on Wednesday said the zone has surpassed its target of revenue collection. The total GST revenue collected is Rs 8,299 crore against a target Rs 5,590 crore.
The zone office has also collected Rs 17,712 crore from the Central Excise against a target of Rs 17,620 crore and Rs 247 crore from Service Tax towards pending arrears.
The customs revenue collected is Rs 5,297 crore against a target of Rs 5,110 crore.
Further, during the 2018-19. the officers made gold seizure of 13.77 kg valued at Rs 4.46 crore from the Bhubaneswar International Airport and arrested seven passengers in this connection.
The zone has also booked 54 cases of fake GST input invoices involving an amount of Rs l83.19 crore.
