Continuing the drive against narcotics trade, the Commissionerate police Quick Action Team (QAT) and the Khandagiri police on Wednesday conducted a joint raid and seized 55.50 grams of brown sugar near the Bharatpur fish market here.
They also arrested three persons in this connection. The market value of the seized contraband is worth Rs 5.50 lakh. The arrestees were identified as Dayanidhi Barad, Pravat Kumar Chauhan and Surya Ghadei (23).
Sources said that acting on inputs, the police team conducted a raid near the Bharatpur fish market in the afternoon and nabbed the accused.
Besides the contraband, a car and four cell phones were seized from the possession of the accused.
The accused were arrested under Section 21(b) of the NDPS Act; and after lodging a case against them, police forwarded them to court.
