Three dacoits entered into the home of one Sarat Barik of Kantol village of the Athagarh NAC area late on Wednesday night and looted cash of over Rs 4 lakh and about 200 grams of gold ornaments at gun point.
Sources said the criminals with masks on their faces knocked at the doors of Barik at around 3 am. When he opened the door, the trio beat him and asked for the key of the almirah by brandishing a gun at him. Barik’s wife was also beaten by the robbers, who decamped with the cash and the gold ornaments. An FIR has been registered with the Athagarh police in this regard and the police have started inquiry.
