The Jaleswar police in Baleswar district, while acting on a tipoff, on Saturday seized 32 grams of brown sugar and arrested two drug peddlers in this connection following a raid at the Nuabazar level crossing in the Jaleswar area.
The arrested were identified as Arun Nag Giri and Kushik Manna, both residents under the Egra police limits in Medinapur district of West Bengal.
According to reports, a police team headed by Jaleswar PS IIC Parsuram Sahu conducted the raid.
The estimated value of the seized contraband was around Rs 3.20 lakh. Further investigation into the matter was on while the accused duo was forwarded to court under The NDPS Act, reports added.
