Continuing the crackdown against illegal ganja smuggling, police seized 322 kg of the contraband worth Rs 30 lakh in Koraput district on Tuesday late night and arrested two persons in this connection.
According to reports, Machkund and Lamtaput police intercepted a truck at Guneipada during night patrolling. During search, contraband was recovered from the vehicle. The two persons who were arrested were identified as Vipin Misra and Arun Dubey.
The ganja was being transported in truck from Enugu in Andhra Pradesh to Uttar Pradesh via Koraput district. The truck has also been seized by police and further probe was on to ascertain possible involvement of others in offence.
