In a broad daylight robbery, unidentified bike-borne miscreants snatched over Rs 3 lakh from an NGO owner and his assistant near the Baliguda bus-stand in Kandhamal district on Monday.
The incident took place in the afternoon while Dillip Kumar Nayak, who runs an NGO in Kurtamgarh was on his way to office on a bike with his assistant, after withdrawing money from the Baliguda SBI branch.
However, when Dilip stopped near the Baliguda bus stand to buy fruits, the two bike-borne looters, who had followed them from the bank snatched the cash bag from them and fled from the spot.
“We chased the looters from us till Nuagaon Square. However, they managed to escape through Simanbadi road. We had Rs 3,30,500 in the bag,” said Dillip.
The Baliguda police started an investigation into the matter after Dillip lodged a case.
