In a daring broad daylight robbery, unidentified miscreants looted Rs 2 lakh from a resident of Ajoyodha Nagar on Thursday. Sources said one Anil Kumar Pradhan had gone to the State Bank of India branch in the medical campus to deposit the money. But due to some reason, he was unable to deposit it. Later, he went to the nearby ICICI Bank to deposit the money.
While Pradhan was about to enter the bank after parking his motorbike, two youths on a motorcycle wearing helmets approached and asked him the way to Chhatrapur. When he was showing him the direction, they snatched the money bag and fled from the spot.
After being informed, Gosani Nuaagaon IIC Kulamani Sethi and other personnel rushed to the spot and scrutinised the CCTV footage installed outside the SBI Bank. Police have ascertained from the footage that the miscreants had followed Pradhan before looting him. A case has been registered in the BNPur police station in the connection, informed BNPur IIC Jaykrushna Patnaik. The incident has sent shockwaves and it is being discussed that looters have again become active in the city.
