Several duped investors of the district are running from pillar to post to get their investment back. Recently, they lodged an FIR against a private online chain marketing company, stated to be Kolkata based, with the town police.
Their (duped investors’) legal counsel Md Islam said that the company has siphoned to the tune over Rs 2crore from Baleswar market through cheating. Several people have lost their hard earned deposit.
“The dubious company is not giving any returns to the investors as promised. The Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crime) of the district is investigating the case. It is apprehended that at least Rs 2 crore is siphoned from THE Baleswar market,” said Islam.
DSP Crime Umesh Chandra Panda said," Some of the investors have lodged a complaint with the Town police and afterwards they modified their complaint. It is being investigated and soon action would be initiated from our end."
According to the investors, they had invested their principal amount with a company named , G net Ad world through online transaction, after being lured by promise of a handsome return.
As per the company policy, they claimed , one has to invest Rs 12,000 initially through online . Soon after the amount is invested the client would receive Rs 100 daily which would be credited to the investors' accounts. If through persuasions one joins another person than he would receive commission.
“Hoping that by investing Rs 12,000 we would get Rs 36,000 (Rs 100 daily) we joined the company.
Once one joins the company his or her up-line member would get commission too. It attracted us . Several investors who joined about one year ago got handsome returns.
The unit while was Rs 12,000, some have purchased multiple units and reaped financial gains.
But those who joined recently, about one month back, are not getting returns,” the duped investors claimed.
