Unidentified bike-borne miscreants looted Rs 18 lakh from an employee of a private company in broad daylight near Khuntuni Rajkishorepur in the Khuntuni area in Cuttack district on Tuesday.
The matter came to the fore after victim Santosh Kumar Raj, an employee of Vimal Pan Masala company, lodged a complaint at the Khuntuni police station in this connection.
According to the complaint, Raj was heading towards Bhubaneswar from Dhenkanal by a bike in the morning when four miscreants coming by two Pulsar bikes intercepted him.
When opposed, the looters threatened him by
brandishing sharp weapons and decamped with the bag containing Rs 18 lakh.
Following the incident, Raj approached the local police and lodged an FIR.
Based on the complaint, the Khuntuni police registered a case under relevant Sections of IPC. The police reached the spot and launched a hunt to nab the miscreants.
