An Excise Department mobile squad seized a huge quantity of ganja from the Auto Nagar area near Haldiapadar in Brahmapur city. The estimated value of the seized contraband was Rs 17 lakh.Based on inputs, the excise team conducted a raid in the Auto Nagar and found 17 sacks stored in a plot.
On scrutiny, it was found that 3.30 quintals ganja was stashed in sacks. But it was yet to be ascertained as to who had stored contraband there. However, it was suspected that contraband was meant to be transported to some other place outside State. The raid was carried out on the instructions of Excise Superintendent Ram Chandra Mishra.
