Police, revenue and forest officials on Thursday again destroyed illegally-grown ganja plants worth Rs 15.81 crore in a forest area near Paijarai village under R Udaygiri block in Gajapati district.
The plants had been cultivated in an area of 80 acres. Getting information, a team led R Udaygiri police IIC Mamata Nayak and Tehsildar Smrutiranjan Satpathy conducted a raid. Police have lodged a case under the NDPS Act and carrying out further investigations.
The raid was carried under instructions of district Collector Anupam Saha and SP Tapan Kumar Patnaik.
