Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted Rs 10 lakh from a cattle trader after attacking him on the Karasing-Udayapur road under the Buguda police station in Ganjam district on Thursday afternoon.
The victim, who sustained critical injuries in the attack, was rushed to the Buguda hospital for treatment. Sources said when the cattle trader was returning to his house, three miscreants came on a bike and intercepted him, taking advantage of the lonely stretch of the road. The miscreants thrashed him severely and later looted Rs 10 lakh cash from him at gun point. The miscreants also threatened to kill him if he approaches the police. Later, the cattle trader was admitted to a hospital in Buguda. Meanwhile, a complaint has been lodged at Buguda police station, following which the police begun an investigation into the incident to nab the accused.
