The Crime Branch’s Special Task Force (STF) on Saturday intercepted a car here and seized a huge quantity of ganja, the market value of which was estimated to be around Rs 10 lakh.
The STF also arrested three persons in connection. The three arrestees were identified as Prasant Majhi, Sujoy Majhi and Prasanta Gamango.
Acting upon reliable inputs regarding transportation of a ganja consignment, the STF personnel set up a trap in the morning and intercepted the car near the Khandagiri Square.
During frisking of the vehicle, the officials discovered 1.35 quintal of ganja and seized it as they failed to produce valid documents for the consignment. The driver was taken into custody along with two other occupants. During grilling, the trio confessed to police that they were transporting the contraband to Kolkata from Gajapati district.
