Unidentified miscreants on Saturday night broke into a Honda two-wheeler showroom near Beherapata on Bypass Road in Jharsuguda town and decamped with cash of Rs 10 lakh and spare parts worth Rs 4 lakh.
The matter came to light after the cashier found the window of the showroom open at around 9 am on Sunday.
It seems the miscreants were well acquainted with the place as they decamped with the chest in which the cash was kept. Though there were 15 computers and other valuables in the showroom, but they are intact, “said the owner of the showroom.
Police have started an investigation after the owner of the showroom Harish Modi lodged a complaint at the BTM outpost.
Police suspect the incident of taking place either on Friday or Saturday late night. “The showroom remains closed on every Saturdays. We are also investigating the
possibility of involvement of insiders in the crime,’ said a police official.
