The Utkal Mahila Samiti staged a protest rally on Monday against the continuous death of children in Malkangiri and failure of the State Government in checking the deadly Japanese Encephalitis (JE).
The protestors also demanded Rs 10 lakh compensation from both the State and Central Government for families of each of the deceased kid. The Samiti members took out the rally from Ashok Nagar to the Rajmahal square. Samiti State president Pramodini Paikaray, secretary Pravabati Das, adviser Banalata Jena, vice-president Bhanumati Reddy, Krushnapriya Mishra and Sita Swain were present, among others.
