The Jeypore police seized a number of vehicles for allegedly being used in ganja smuggling and arrested three persons in this connection in Koraput district on Tuesday.
Acting on a tipoff, police conducted a raid near Ambaguda village when the contraband was being loaded into a Volvo truck , An Innova SUV with Army logo and four motorcycles.The seized vehicles were searched in the presence of the Executive Magistrate.
A total of 728.6 kg of ganja worth around Rs 50 lakh was recovered from the vehicles.The accused were identified as Rahul Pratap Singh (37) and Sunder Singh (55) of Uttar Pradesh and Prafulla Khemundu (24) of Koraput.
