A two- member team of Railway Police Force (RPF) on Monday evening started an inquiry into the case where a transgender was pushed out of a moving train at Jajpur Road on January 23.
The officials visited the injured transgender victim’s house at Habalaganda under Rajkanika police limits.
The investigating team met victim Anu on Monday evening and interrogated her about the circumstances which led to such an unfortunate incident.
Notably, Anu was pushed off from a moving train allegedly by some RPF personnel on January 21 while she was travelling from Bhubaneswar to Jajpur. She was grievously injured in that incident.
The Jajpur Eunuch Association later lodged a complaint at Jajpur Road with the RPF. “Meanwhile, Anu is bed ridden. We have demanded a compensation of Rs 20 lakh from the State Government for Anu and her family. We too demand that Anu get justice and the accused RPF personnel booked,” said Kajol, a member of Jajpur Eunuch Assocaition.
“We had to collect some documents of Anu and record her statement. A complaint had been received over the incident after which an inquiry had been ordered,” stated GK Das, an official in the RPF team. PNS n KENDRAPADA
