District Collector Debendra Prasad Das on Wednesday directed Sub-Collector Kanhu Charan Dhir to direct the Aul Executive Magistrate and the Aul police for a joint inquiry into palpable tension going on since August at Aul between Deobandi and Bareli community people over burying a body at a local graveyard.
One Mohammed Jahid, a resident of Rasulpur (Talasahi) under Aul police station, who belongs to Bareli community, on Wednesday met the District Magistrate with some of his fellow Bareli community members and alleged that the Deobandi community people were protesting the burial of a body in their local grave yard.
Jahid in his petition alleged that on August 21, his father Sheikh Saikuddin died. He took the corpse in a coffin to the grave yard with the help of his fellow Bareli community members. But, the Deobandi community people did not allow burial.
Bareli group members later buried the body on August 21 in Pattamundai grave yard used by the Bareli community.
He along with couple of Bareli community members alleged that the Deobandi community members were creating terror for the Bareli community members intentionally as a small size of Bareli community members is residing in Aul. He urged before the district Collector to take steps to sort out the grave yard problem.
