A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour at Gopabandhupalli under the Plat Site police station in the city on Wednesday night.
Reports said the victim and her 10-year-old brother had gone to their neighbour’s house to sleep there during night as the parents of the two had gone somewhere outside.
While the two were sleeping, a family member of the neighbour took the girl to a room and allegedly raped her.
The girl’s mother on Thursday lodged a complaint in this regard at the Plant Site police station, on the basis of which accused Habil Hans was arrested under the POCSO Act and various Sections of the IPC.
