The Plant Site police have unearthed the mystery of the 36 swords that were dug up from Gopabandhupali area, and have arrested two youths. Plant Site police station IIC Jagannath Acharya said, “After investigation, the two accused Rajan Mandal and Manraj Saha alias Mana of Gopabandhupali area were arrested and forwarded to court.”
Acharya said that the culprits had stolen a gunny bag on November 15 from the parcel yard of the railway station here. After they opened it and found swords in it, being apparently scared, they hid it underneath the earth.
The gunny sack carries booking number and it, along with five other packets, had been transported in Jammu Tai Express from Amritsar and was to reach Moorie station.
As these packets could not be delivered at Moorie, they were unloaded at Rourkela station before the train left for the washing shade, the IIC said.
On November 16, when the train left the station for Jammu Tai via Morrie the rest five packets were loaded on it but this one was missing, he added.
