Romeo held for harassing girl in Rajdhani train

A youth’s misbehaviour with a girl in the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express cost him dear on Friday when the victim’s friend twitted a complaint to Union Railway Suresh Prabhu.

Prabhu immediately ordered the railway authorities to take suitable action. The Government Railway Police (GRP) swung into action and arrested the youth at Tatanagar on Friday. The youth was identified as Baniprasad Mohanty of Khordha.

The victim had twitted about her nightmare in the Rajdhani Express on various social media sites. Subsequently, one of her friends immediately brought the matter to the notice of the Railway Minister through Twitter.

The girl, who was travelling from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi in the train, was being harassed by the youth. The police are interrogating Mohanty after he was apprehended at the Tatanagar Railway Station. The Minister’s response has been lavishly praised by the women passengers, who often have to bear the brunt of Romeos while travelling in trains.
