Robbery in Prof's house: City police nab two

The Chandrasekharpur police on Tuesday arrested two persons in connection with the broad daylight robbery at the house of one KC Singh in Sailashree Vihar and recovered stolen items from their possession.

According to police, Asoka Pangari alias Kalu (30) of Tikiripada under Fategarh police station in Nayagarh district who was working as a driver of Singh for sometime committed the crime along with his associate Bhajamana Khatai (26) of  Dhaneswar Khatei of Manipur under the same police station.

Police maintained that Singh had engaged Kalu as his driver without verifying his identity. A lenovo laptop, two pairs gold earrings, one silver filigree work, four leg finger rings, four silver pots, a Hero Honda CBZ motorcycle were seized from their possession.

On June 27, three miscreants robbed the house of Singh who is a Professor at a city-based private university while his wife was alone in the home. Efforts are on to nab another accused, said police.
