The Kendrapada district unit of the BJP on Thursday said it would hold hartal here on July 15 to protest the administration’s lackadaisical attitude in repairing the roads here.
Some BJP leaders led by district president Duryodhan Sahu met district Collector Pramod Kumar Das and submitted a memorandum in
this regard. Sahu alleged that the district administration has failed to repair the Kendrapada town main road from Tinimuhani to Angulai and several other roads connecting the District Headquarters Hospital while their condition has worsened over the years.
“The district administration has not listened to our repeated demands to repair the roads. Hence, we have decided to hold hartal in the township area on coming Tuesday from 8 am to 4 pm,” Sahu told mediapersons. .
When contacted, district Collector Das said the repairing work on the main road has already started. He said he is personally monitoring the repairing work. Other roads will be repaired soon, he said.
