The All-Orissa State Road Transport Staff Association elected its new office-bearers for the coming year at its eighth annual general meeting held here on Sunday.
MlA Pravat Ranjan Biswal, who chaired the meeting, was unanimously elected as the president of the association. The other newly-elected members include Bibhu Samantrai (executive president), Braja Kishore Panda (general secretary), Sarbeswar Pal (organization general secretary) Durga Mohapatra, Bina Pradhan and Tapan Samal (vice-presidents).
Members of the body from across State and Vizianagaram attended the meeting in large numbers. They discussed on a seven-point charter of demands, including regularisation of contractual workers, who have been working for the last one decade.
