The conclave is being jointly organised by the State Government and the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) of the Government of India.
The State Government would soon shortlist the companies and seek investment in its ‘investible projects’ during the conclave on an array of sectors like chemicals, petrochemicals and plastics, textiles, healthcare and biotech, agro and food processing, IT and electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM), tourism, industrial parks, logistics and transport, Smart City projects, energy and downstream industries in steel and aluminum.
The State Government has prepared a list of over 125 projects to be showcased during the event, including investments in the Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region (PCPIR) planned in Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada districts. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik recently attended a meeting of envoys of foreign countries in New Delhi in a bid to woo as many investors as possible.
The State Government claims to have received investment assurances of around Rs 70,000 crore during the Make in India Week in Mumbai in February and Rs 90,000 crore during the Odisha Investors’ Meet in Bangalore in August this year.
