Members of the All India RMS and MMS Employees Union, Group-C, Mail Guard and MTS GR-C staffs and staffs of the Brahmapur-Ganjam Divisional Branch on Monday launched an indefinite dharana here demanding immediate transfer of Brahampur Circle Superintendent HS Mohapatra.

The agitating employees held Mohapatra responsible for illegal tenure postings, delay in GPF sanctions and practice of demanding gratification for passing of TA bills by officials in the Brahampur Circle office.“Mohapatra has been protecting erring officials who are practicing all these partial and corrupt practices. We demand his immediate transfer,” said a release issued by the union.

They strongly opposed promotion of two part-time employees. “While the matter is subjudice in the Odisha High Court, how can the authorities promote two part time employees while ignoring others,” the union questioned. The union demanded revocation of the suspension order of the four innocent sitting assistants. The dharana would continue till the demands are met, said union’s circle secretary Rajendra Kumar Mohapatra, former secretary Rabindranath Dhal and Dusmanta Sethi.
