Sujata Sahu, wife of a railway doctor Sanjeev Sahu, was mysteriously found dead in her house at the railway quarters under the Sea Beach police station here on Monday afternoon.
Reports said Sujata was found lying in a pool of blood with injuries on her head.
Family members of Sujata alleged that she was murdered. Sources said the attack on her might have taken place between 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm. When her husband and son reached home, the house was locked from inside.
Family members said that Sujata died of excess bleeding and there were as many as three injury marks on her head.
After receiving information, the Sea Beach police rushed to the spot and recovered the body before sending it for postmortem. A police official stated that the investigation was at a preliminary stage and Sujata had a cranium fracture.
Police sources said it was suspected that the victim was hit on her head with a heavy object, due to which she died.
Meanwhile, police sought help of a scientific team, which reached the spot and carried out investigation.
