The Rourkela Shramik Sangh (RSS), a recognised union of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), has served an ultimatum to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RSP to hold strike after November 6, if their 11-point of charter of demands is not fulfilled.
According to RSS general secretary MDN Panikar, a notice has been served to the RSP CEO, Chairman SAIl, Director (Personnel), SAIl, Chief labour Commissioner, Sundargarh Collector, Rourkela SP and Regional labour Commissioner in this connection.
Among the demands, the RSP management was urged to stop contractual engagement in permanent and regular job, stopping transfer from one channel promotion to other channel against the tripartite agreement and filling up vacant posts, among others. In another development, another group of the RSS led by Prasanta Behera decided to wear black badges on November 5 and 6 demanding fulfillment of 3-point of charters of demands.
