Rourkela Sharmik Sangh (RSS) general secretary Rajendra Prasad Singh (71) died in a road accident at the Barsuan market on Sunday afternoon.
Singh had gone to Barsuan by his Bolero, which he was himself. A 10-wheeler coal-laden truck dashed against the Bolero from the front, following which Singh sustained critical injuries.
Getting information, the lahunipada police reached the spot and brought Singh to the Ispat General Hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead. Singh is survived by his wife and two sons.
“The driver of the truck (who fled from the spot) will be arrested very soon,” said lahunipada police station IIC US Naik.
