The student who had allegedly masterminded killing and looting of a retired schoolteacher at Chhend colony here was nabbed and forwarded to court on Sunday.
Two of his aides were arrested and forwarded to court twelve days back. They had allegedly looted money and gold ornaments from his house after killing him on December 6 this year.
According to police sources, Munij Brata Pradhan(17), a resident of Sector-15 area, had acquaintances with retired teacher Shiv Kumar Nanda(59) as his tutor during his school days.
Accused Munij had cajoled his friend Dilip Oram and Sushil Kumar Mallik to loot Shiv Kumar’s house since he was a rich person. As per their plan, the three went to Shiv Kumar’s house on December 6 at around 9 pm and beaten him to death. Thereafter, they took away Rs 1,20,000 and gold ornaments from his almirah. They had distributed the booty among them. “We have arrested Munij Brata Pradhan, who is the mastermind of this loot and murder case. He has been forwarded to court on Sunday under IPC section 394, 302 and 34,” said Chhend PS IIC S Toppo.
