A decision of the State Government to sponsor the Indian women’s and men’s hockey teams for the next five years was hailed by the Panposh Sports Association (PSA), a leading sports organisation of steel city.
It is a pride for the State and sports lovers for becoming a sponsorer of our national game for both men and women team says PSA general secretary Susant Behera in a Press briefing. It also a matter of pride for Sundargarh which is considered as the nursery of hockey, says Behera. It may be noted that a couple of days in a high profile occasion,
CM Naveen Patnaik declared to sponsor both the teams and accordingly the jerseys of the players will carry the picture of rising sun along with Olive Ridley, Odishi dance, Konark wheel and symbol of hockey. It may also be noted here that the PSA has been organizing the national women hockey championship in memory of legendary Dyanchand in steel city under the aegis of Hockey India and Hockey Odisha in last three years.
