Rourkela Bar Association secretary Sadananda Sahoo on Tuesday threatened to resort to fast-unto-death here from February 6 if a Food Inspector is not appointed in the city by then. He has intimated this to the ministers of Health and Family Welfare and Urban Development Departments, the Sundargarh district Collector and Rourkela ADM and SP. Sahoo would stage the sit-in in front of Rourkela Municipality. The post of Food Inspector has been lying vacant in Rourkela Municipality for last five years. Taking advantage of this, hoteliers, fast food centres and restaurants are supplying adulterate food to the customers, he alleged. Even many drinking water bottle farms are supplying unfiltered water packages and pouches, he added.
