The Government Railway Police (GRP), solved the much touted murder of a Father of a Jharkhand based church, whose body had been received near a railway over bridge on May 6 last here.
Police arrested the accused and forwarded him to judicial custody on Saturday. The body had been recovered with multiple injury marks. The deceased was identified as Abraham Surin, who works as a Father of a Church of Kunti in Jharkhand. Police had registered a murder case and started an investigation.
According to sources, the police could come to know about a person, with whom Surin was in regular touch for quite some time before his murder by searching his call records in mobile phone. Police arrested Md Hider, also a native of Khunti. Hider had taken a loan of `10,000 from Surin to use the same to expand his business. Since Surin was pestering Hider over return of money, Hider planned to kill him.
He invited Surin to accompany him to Rourkela, telling him that his friend would pay him `25,000 out of which he will return his money. Accordingly, both reached Rourkela on May 5 evening by Tapaswini Express and on that night Hider killed Surin and dumped the body near the railway track under the over bridge at Sector 21.
