An OSAP jawan, Manoj Patra (25) of Balijodi, was arrested by the Tangarpali police and forwarded to court on Friday for ditching a college girl.
Source said Patra was in love with the girl of Anand Bazar, Fertiliser Township, for last one year. Giving assurance of marriage, he had physical relation with her. When the girl pressured him for marriage, He called her on Thursday to the Fertiliser Township’s Sai temple and outright denied to marry her.
When the girl did not return to her house for a long time, her family members lodged a verbal complaint at the Tangarpali police station. Police and family members searched for her and located her sitting near the temple silently. The girl narrated everything to the family members and a complaint was lodged with the police.Acting on the FIR, police arrested Manoj. A medical examination of the girl was also made.
