leaders of the BJP district unit led by former MlA Krushna Chandra Patra and senior BJP leader Premananda Jena met district Collector Rupa Roshan Sahu here on Monday to draw her attention towards the deteriorating law and order situation in the district.
During the discussion, the BJP leaders cited the recent heinous rape incidents of Kankadahad, Bhuban and Bhagabanpur. They blamed that due to ineffectiveness of the district police, minor SC girl Kamini Behera was raped by one Ranjan Sahu at Bhagabanpur village on January 30. The BJP demanded compensation of `10 lakh to each rape victim’s family and immediate arrest of accused Ranjan Sahu.
Among others, Bar Association former president Naba Kishore Guru, Matru Prasad Nanda and Sudhakar Sahu were present.
