A few hours after Commissioner of Police YB Khurania informed that the girlfriend of engineering student Rishi has been identified, a girl, believed to be the girlfriend, on Thursday visited the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) and reportedly sought protection.
Sources said she was accompanied by her mother and some social activists. Though details of their discussion were not known, it was believed that she spoke with the commission regarding Rishi’s death.
On the other hand, Sourav Nanda, a hostel-mate of Rishi, for the first told the media and said he has appeared before the police twice in connection with the case and investigation must be done to bring out the real culprit behind the whole episode. Rishi’s mother and sister had been demanding interrogation of Sourav Nanda alias Nandu.
