Many noted locals from different fields held a memorial meeting and paid rich tributes to freedom fighter and former MLA Priyanath Dey here on Tuesday.
Senior lawyer Rajkishore Khatua presided over the meeting. State Planning Board Deputy Chairman Bishnu Charan Das said a void created with the passing away of Dey is hard to be filled. VHP leader and veteran journalist Gauranga Hota, social worker Utkala Ranjan Mohanty , lawyer Dolagobinda Dash, former municipality Chairpersons Minati Das and Madhusudan Sahoo, Dipti Das, Zilla Parishad members Lata Das and Kiranbala Sasmal offered tributes to the departed soul.
A memento was presented on behalf of the District Gandhi Forum to Pranab Dey, son of late Dey. A Bhajan Samaraho was organised at Dey’s Punanga village till late night.
