Vigilance police on Wednesday caught Rayagada district’s Gorakhpur Circle Revenue Inspector (RI) Prafulla Bauri red-handed while demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 1,000 from Jayadhan Gouda of Tala Maligaon village for submission of verification reports in two mutation cases.
The official fee of a mutation case is Rs 20 only.
His office-cum-residential Government quarter at Gorakhpur in the district was searched. He was arrested and forwarded to court, informed an official release.
