R'gada villagers' Rail Roko enters Day 4

Published on:

The agitating villagers continued their Rail Roko for the fourth day on Monday demanding halt for trains and construction of a station at Baharduluki in Rayagada district resulting in disruption of railway traffic between Rayagada and Koraput.

The agitators felled trees across the route between Rayagada and Koraput for last four days throwing the railway traffic out of gear. Several trains have either been cancelled or short-terminated due to the Rail Roko.

Most of the trains were short-terminated from Rayagada and Titilagarh leading to the inconveniences of passengers, railway authorities said.Though district officials visited the spot and held discussions with the agitators, nothing tangible has been achieved so far to resume traffic on this track.
