local Congress leader Ketaki Gamango was arrested on Thursday on the charge of slapping newly-elected Rayagada Zilla Parishad President Purushottam Gomango.
She along with her husband Bijay Gomango was detained at the Gunupur the police station. Ketaki Gomango, who is also a former Zilla Parishad President, reportedly slapped Purushottam Gomango during a procession at Gunupur after the latter was returning from a temple.
She was reportedly interested that her husband got the party ticket for the ZP poll.
The Congress leader confessed that she slapped Purushottam Gomango as she was unhappy with him over party ticket distribution during the ZP election.
However, Purushottam Gamango denied the incident. “I do not know whether somebody slapped me,” he said.
