A review meeting on the progress of the Government medical college and hospital here was conducted under the chairmanship of the Higher Education Minister Ananta Das on Sunday.
The district’s MlAS including Aswani Patra, Nityananda Sahu and JP Dash, ZP President Nibedita Mohaty and district Collector Pramod Das, Baleswar Municipality Chairman Alok Sahu, members of several civil society bodies and representatives of construction companies were, among others, participated in the discussion.
The Minister inquired about the progress of the construction. He stressed on appointment of principal and superintendent for the college, permanent electricity supply, road to the college, a gate and fulfilment of other conditions that are needed by the MCI (Medical Council of India).
To expedite the uncompleted works while a sub-committee was formed under chairmanship of Sadar MlA JP Dash, who would be working in consultation with the two other members, the Chief District Medical Officer and the Sadar Sub-Collector. The Sub-Collector would review the ground progress and submit reports on the deficiencies and intervention needed for completion of the project.
