A review meeting for the urban areas of Baleswar, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj was conducted here on Friday. Urban Development (UD) Secretary G Mathivathanan while conducted the review, heads of municipalities and NACs, besides executive officers, were present.
Joint Director of UD Department and Swachh Bharat Mission Director B Parameswaran, district Collector Pramod Das, the project directors of Baleswar, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj, Uday Narayan Das, Sanat Mohanty and Subham Saxena respectively were also present.
Mathivathnan stressed on development of areas with proper implementation of schemes of both the Centre and the State and on revenue collection. He also laid stress on regular collection of taxes. He opined to enhance tax marginally by 5-10 per cent each year. Meanwhile, Baripada Municipality collected highest taxes this year.
Thrust was laid on providing pucca house to everyone under the Central as well as State schemes. The UD Secretary also stressed on providing safe drinking water, SBM , smooth management of Ahar scheme, skill development through mission programme and effective solid waste management.
It was announced that the best performing UlB would be felicitated. PD DRDA UN Das offered vote of thanks.
