The Lokshakti Abhiyan on Monday appealed to the Supreme Court to review imposition of Re 1 penalty on Prashant Bhusan and declare him guiltless.
“To restore the most respectful independence and democratic function of the Supreme Court, let us appeal to the apex court to review the penalty decision and make Prashant Bhusan guiltless to ensure the guarantee of freedom of every citizen to speak the truth,” said Abhiyan president Prafulla Samantara.
He too appealed to all concerned citizens to contribute Re 1 to a national fund for defending truth-seeking strugglers kept in jail. The creation of fund was declared by Swaraj Abhiyan leader Yogendra Yadav in the presence of Bhusan in Delhi on Monday.
Samantara too appealed to Bhusan to lead the campaign to get free all political dissent leaders from jail.
