Finance Minister Prasanna Acharya, while presenting the Vote-on-Account Budget for the first four months of the fiscal 2014-15 in the Assembly on Friday, expressed concern that the State’s revenue receipt during the financial year would decline due to the slowdown in the economy.
“The revenue receipt may decline in view of the global recession which has affected the country and the State,” he said. However, he asserted that a revenue surplus is anticipated at the end of 2014-15.
Acharya said the availability of revenue receipt during 2014-15 has been worked out at Rs 62,916.76 crore and the revenue expenditure has been estimated at Rs 61,796.64 crore. So, the estimated revenue surplus is of the order of Rs 1,120.13 crore.
Acharya presented the Vote-on-Account Budget of Rs 34,829.36 crore for the first four months of 2014-15 estimating a total Budget of Rs 2,07,355 crore for the whole year.
