Protesting against the halt of work at the Lower Suktel Irrigation Project and demanding early commencement of project work, president of Balangir Action committee Gopalji Panigrahi has threatened to resume stir.
On November 5 last, a delegation of the action committee met district Collector Arindum Dakua and submitted a petition to him.
"The project work has been halted for last 15 months. We have informed the district administration that unless work at lower Suktel resumed within 15 days, the Bolangir Action Committee would resort to agitation," said Panigrahi.
The Lower Suktel irrigation project work should be resumed as early as possible with due attention to the issue of displaced people, demanded lawyer Subash Nanda.
