The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) on Thursday clarified regarding the timing of weekend shutdown imposed in the urban areas of the State in view of the rising number of Covid-19 cases.
“In response to some media queries, it is hereby clarified that the Friday night curfew continues till 5 am of Saturday and then weekend shutdown continues from Saturday till Monday morning in all urban areas of the State. No one should interpret in any other way. In effect, restrictions continue from Friday evening till Monday morning 5 am,” the SRC said in a statement.
During the weekend shutdown, all activities are restricted except healthcare facilities, medicine stores, movement of ambulance and all medical personnel.
Besides, Government officials on emergency services, petrol pumps, milk booths, LPG distribution, print and electronic media ,water supply, sanitation and sewerage workers, electricity supply and distribution, .movement of goods and goods carriers, whether loaded or unloaded, industrial establishments, factories and construction activities and all other essential activities are exempted from the restrictions.
