Worried over the immoral activists like flesh trade in their locality, hundreds of residents, including senior citizens and women, living at Maitree Vihar here on Thursday held a silent protest rally demanding immediate action against the guest houses in which such type of nuisance happens.
According to Maitree Vihar Residents’ Welfare Association president Bimal Mishra, on November 1 police nabbed three persons, including a woman engaged in flesh trade from a guest house here in the Maitree Vihar residential colons.
“These kind of immoral activities are suspected to be the main source of income for all the guest houses running and mushrooming in the residential areas like Maitree Vihar. Media coverage of such incidents has badly tarnished the prestige of the residents and disturbed them mentally and emotionally,” said Mishra.
Mishra said, surprisingly, the concerned guest house where immoral activities had occurred is not in the licenced guest houses in the official website of the Commissionerate of Police.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the association also met the Commissioner of Police for immediate steps in this regard.
