The Research Scholars’ Week (RSW), first-of-its-kind in the history of NIT Rourkela, was organised by the institute to provide an avenue for research scholars to showcase their research work through poster presentations. Prof lM Patnaik, Prof D Vasavaiah, Prof RK Shyamasundar and Prof G R Rout inspired the young minds to mould towards the ever changing world of research and innovation. The event was introduced by Prof Bansidhar Majhi, Convener and Dean Academic Affairs. He gave his insight to the event and told that the presenting researchers will get a positive feedback in terms of new ideas to strengthen their work further.
NIT Director Prof Sunil Kumar Sarangi spoke about the importance of knowledge and its dissemination through contribution to society towards a better life by utilizing the developed technologies. He also urged the young researchers to take up challenges to address the social issues, reinforce industry-institute relation and strengthen the institute. Eminent computer scientist Prof RK Shyamasundar also addressed.
