The members of BJP led by Anant Das and others on Wednesday staged a silent protest before the Collectorate here demanding reopening of the sugar mill at Deogaon, 20km from Balangir headquarters town.
"We the members of BJP are staging a silent demonstration before the collectorte demanding reopening of the sugar mill at Deogaon. Bolangir has no industry and migration is endemic in the district. Earlier, it was providing employment to 800 youths and 15,000 farmers were benefited both directly and indirectly," said Das.
The BJP workers submitted a memorandum to Balangir Sub Collector Sanjay Mishra in this connection.
Receiving the memorandum, Balangir Sub-Collector Mishra said he would intimate the Government about the matter.
